According to a report from Marca, Spurs have apparently ended their interest in signing Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho this summer prompting many Lilywhites to react on Twitter.
Coutinho, who has recently been linked with a move to north London, could be made available for a loan-to-buy deal this summer as Barca look keen to offload but his £200,000-per-week wages and the initial £8 million loan price look to be huge financial obstacles.
As a result, as per this Marca update, Tottenham have ended their interest in Coutinho – with chairman Daniel Levy allegedly citing his lucrative wage demands as the main reason behind our new stance.
Given the expensive nature of a potential coup, it’s debatably clear to see why some Spurs supporters would see this as ‘good news‘ – but other members of our fan base have been keen to slam Levy for failing to move on another target.
